Boardmasters Open 2024 | Day Five Highlights

Day five saw the FINALS of the Boardmasters Open and what a result it was. 🏆️⁠

With great swell and waves all week, the level of talent on display was spectacular. Double podium winner Lukas Skinner made history, battling Patrick Langdon-Dark in an all British men’s final for the first time in history.👏⁠

In the Wild West Jerky Longboard series Edouard Delpero and Alice Lemoigne retained their titles as winners in a closely matched heat against their fellow finalists.🏄‍♂️⁠

A huge congratulations to all the athletes across the competition and to all the team and sponsors that helped to bring the competition to life. Once again, another action-packed week at the home of UK surfing. 🌊⁠

Boardmasters Open 2024 | Day Four Highlights

It was a busy day down at the Boardmasters Open on day 4 with strong performances from the competitors in the Longboard, QS and Junior heats.

In the Wild West Jerky Longboard series we saw very high standards across the day with Sunday's final promising to be one of the best yet. Finalists include Delpero, Coret, Dantas and Skinner for the mens, with Lemoigne, Caimi, Grospiron and Ah-Kouen for the womens.

In the BYD Pro Noah Klapp and Tya Zebrowski battled to win spots in the women's final, while Wales's Patrick Langdon-Dark fought with everything he had to make it to the final alongside local legend Lukas Skinner to lock in an all British men's final for the first time in history also meaning we will have a British winner for the first time since 2002.

We closed out the day with the Junior Semi Finals with another surfer from the Netherlands, Douwe Robroch with local boy Fynn Gillespie making it into the final. Lukas Skinner continued to dominate, giving him the double up of finals with the QS and Junior. He'll be joined by another Welshman in the form of Elliot Barton.

Boardmasters Open 2024 | Day Three Highlights

Day three at Boardmasters provided us with some great action in the Wild West Jerky Longboard and BYD Pro series.

Chunky sets saw the female longboarders enter the water in the morning with great performances from Mali Harbour, Lola Bleakely, Emilie Currie and Beth Leighfield which saw them go through to the semi finals. Meanwhile, in the Mens Longboard, Arthur Randell progressed into the quarter finals with the seeded round for day four.

The women's QS saw amazing surfing from Annette Gonzalez Etxabarri and Tya Zebrowski (who is 14 and the current under 16 European Champion) seeing them through to the semi finals.

The Open Men's QS followed the women who both surfed twice today. The competition saw outstanding performances from Patrick Langdon-Dark which comfortably saw him progres through to the Quarter Finals. Arran Strong got pipped to the post leaving Lukas Skinner and Noah Capps in Heat 4 to fight for the final places in the Quarter finals. Lukas Skinner then put on an amazing performance in the final heat of the day in the Quarters seeing him through to the semis tomorrow.

Today promises more action-packed surfing as we head into the final heats of the Boardmasters Open 2024. See you at the beach.

2021 Grom Search held at Fistral Beach 11th-12th June.
The UK’s best junior surfers descended on Fistral Beach in Newquay to battle it in the 2021 Rip Curl Grom Search, hosted by Surfing England.

Having been forced to postpone the event to the back-up weekend, competitors were greeted with beautiful sunshine and fun contestable surf throughout...

New champions have been crowned on an incredible weekend of action at the 2020 English National Surfing Championships. Chunky conditions and strong winds forecast led to a relocation to Great Western Beach, in Newquay.

England’s finest surfing talent have once again come together & descended on Perranporth Beach, Cornwall, on this May Bank Holiday weekend. With over 180 entries in 19 divisions the battle for the prestigious English Titles was ON! A weekend of glorious sunshine (albeit a bit of cheeky Northerly wind) & surf delivering 3-4ft sets shaped it up to be an epic event weekend!
