Quemao Class 2020 | Surfing: Day One Highlights

Watch the surfing highlights from the first day of competition of the 2020 Quemao Class, held at El Quemao, in La Santa, Lanzarote, Canary Islands.

The fifth annual invitational surfing and bodyboarding contest kicked off with spectacular double overhead waves.

For many surfers and bodyboarders, it was one of the best competitive days the event has ever had.

Spanish Team surf the Wavegarden Cove

With so many world-class waves in Spain, it was no surprise to witness an explosive surf session by the national Spanish team. One of the countries top surfers, Vicente Romero, elated by the experience of surfing the Cove for the first time, remarked it was one of the best sessions of his career - perfect for practising different manoeuvres, aerials to tubes.

After winning the A Coruña Surf Pro performed in Caión, Jonathan González joined Óscar Vales and other friends to enjoy some summer sessions at the A Coruña's coastline.
