BEST OF Women’s Skateboard Park | X Games Chiba 2024 Watch the Women’s Skateboard Park highlights from X Games Chiba 2024 in Japan! How medal event is judged: 1 heat of 8 athletes participating in three 40 second runs each. Best run counts, scored 1 - 100. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest. Skateboard park is a style of skateboarding featuring a variety of obstacles such as ramps, bowls, quarter pipes, and ledges arranged in a challenging and creative layout. Skateboarders use these obstacles to perform a variety of tricks, jumps, and grinds, incorporating a majority or all features into a single run. The athletes will complete as many runs as possible within the jam session, with their best run score counting towards final ranking. As skateboarding makes its second Olympic appearance following its debut in Tokyo three years ago, one trend remains clear: teenagers dominate the sport. In Paris, 11-year-old Zheng Haohao of China, the youngest Olympian, competed in the women's skateboard park event. The average age of medalists in the women's events was just 15.🤯 In contrast, the men's competitions featured veteran skaters like 49-year-old Dallas Oberholzer from South Africa and 51-year-old Andy Macdonald. Many athletes came to Paris seeking redemption after falling short in Tokyo, leading to intense competitions where the medalists were decided in the final moments.
