A plethora of drama still awaited on Finals Day in Saquarema with more joy, tears, and ultimately crowning Macy Callaghan and Marco Mignot the event victors. Final spots on the CT Dream Tour were realized with Vahine Fierro’s runner-up enough to solidify alongside the men’s last prospects of Edgard Groggia and Jackson Bunch not being moved from their qualification positions. Now, the 2024 Challenger Series is wrapped with Samuel Pupo and Sally Fitzgibbons earning the No. 1 spots and all eyes shift toward the mecca of surfing, and the 2025 CT, the Lexus Pipe Pro beginning January 27 through Feburary 8.

Last Training Sessions Before The Olympic Surfing Begins

For the past week and a half at Teahupo’o, in a range of surf conditions, a super eclectic bunch of surfers have been working their ways toward peak form — trying to set themselves for one of the great events of their lives. Some of this crew are world professional champions, some are virtual newcomers to this level of competitive skill. Most are somewhere in between. All will soon be surfing in the Olympic Games round one heats. Here’s a look at some of the intensity on show prior to competition. See if you can pick the form — and hear from some of the spectators out here at the End of the Road, as they assess what they’re seeing and wonder who’s going to wear the gold.
