2022 ABB Final Weekend Highlights

The 2022 Australian Boardriders Battle final was held last weekend at Newcastle Beach. Running over two days, the 24 best Boardriders clubs in the country battled it out for bragging rights. Surfing is an individual pursuit, so a teams competition is a unique event, with participants often saying this is way more pressure than a Championship Tour event.

This year North Shelly won the final, after a number years of making the final but missing out at the last hurdle. This year the team of Hughie Vaughan, Macy Callaghan, Joel Vaughan, Russ Molony and Shane Holmes prevailed over Snapper Rocks, Point Lookout and Lennox Ballina Boardriders.

This clip is the highlights as I saw them, I couldn’t film every team or every surfer (and missed a great barrel – sorry Harry). Conditions were terrible but many found some memorable moments in the powerful and blown out surf.
