ANOTHER YEAR OF FULL SEND – PT.1 | SWATCH NINES 25 ANOTHER YEAR OF ABSOLUTE BANGERS – The 17th edition of Swatch Nines has concluded in Switzerland in a flurry of innovation, creativity and unparalleled action. And here’s the first part, out of three, of our highlight edit to get a glimpse into the past week. The annual ski and snowboard progression session returned for the third time to the atmospheric slopes of the Schilthorn, where one of the most playful and creative setups in the history of the Nines provided an unmatched venue for fun and progression. The 2025 Swatch Nines setup featured a massive Big Air jump designed for the world’s best to push their air tricks to the limit. But in typical Nines fashion, it wasn’t just about adding an extra spin or flip to the world’s most difficult tricks. The setup also provided a vast variety of creative snow features designed to get creative juices flowing. The result? One of the most highlight-heavy weeks of the season for the world’s freestyle ski and snowboard elite. On top of that, Øyvind Kirkhus (SNB, NOR) landed a switch backside quad 1620 — a world’s first trick in snowboarding while Luca Harrington (SKI, NZL) stomped a switch triple cork 1980 Esco — only the third time this trick has been landed by a skier. And Vincent Veile (SKI, GER) became the first German, and third person ever, to land a quad cork 1800. Also some heavy action went down on the teardrop rail, with jaw-dropping tricks from the likes of Mia Brookes (SNB, GBR), Max Moffatt (SKI, USA), Lyon Farrell (SNB, NZL) and Kirsty Muir (SKI, GBR). The Street Style course is heavily inspired by obstacles that you’d find in any urban area. Primarily the obstacles include stairsets, handrails, ledges, and walls that require a more aggressive riding style to tackle.
