After many discussions regarding how to deliver an edition of FISE World Series Montpellier that can meet the safety and security requirements needed in response to COVID-19, Hurricane Events, in consultation with its partners, has taken the decision to organize a fully digital FISE Montpellier event in 2020.

The Adventure Sports Network (ASN) and MTN DEWⓇ announced today that its annual summer Dew Tour skateboard competition and festival will now take place September 10-13 at the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, Calif., the event’s home for its fifth consecutive year.

The series’ fifth consecutive season will kick off in June and return to the three permanent VPS-certified park terrain legacy skateparks built in France, Canada, and the United States last year. In Vans’ ongoing effort to provide the greatest skateboard contest experience in the history of the world, the Vans Park Series recently announced, at the request of the riders, that the contest will be switching to an all jam session format for the upcoming 2020 season.

This past weekend World Skate had the opportunity of hosting its first institutional and technical global meeting for all skateboarding stakeholders heading into the 2020 Olympics. It was an important and fruitful meeting for all in attendance. We have an amazingly diverse, dedicated, and passionate community of people who truly care about skateboarding and skateboarders. The informational presentations and conversations from World Skate staff, National Federations, and the skateboarders themselves were invaluable and informative for all.

The annual Dew Tour, presented by the Adventure Sports Network Group (ASNG) and MTN DEWⓇ, announced today that it will return to Long Beach, Calif. for its fifth consecutive year, May 7-10, 2020. The FREE four-day event is a celebration of skateboarding competition, culture and creators and will also serve as the final Olympic qualifying event on U.S. soil before the Tokyo Olympics. Skateboarding will be part of the Olympic Games for the first time in Tokyo in 2020 and is being considered for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Next year’s Dew Tour will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center and Rainbow Park Lagoon.

Oi STU Open takes place from November 11th to 17th at Praça Duó in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Skateboarders such as Pamela Rosa, Letícia Bufoni, Nyjah Huston, Pedro Barros, Sky Brown and Heimana Reynolds are expected in the Street and Park competitions in Barra da Tijuca. The contests are part of a real urban festival with music shows, art exhibits, fashion, and gastronomy.

City councils and law enforcers around the world normally take the stance that skaters should skate the skateparks, and so pump their budgets into skate stoppers and 'no skating' signs in an effort to limit us. Futile attempts of course!
