Movie info: Y.O.D. captures two groups of skaters hitting the road in cool old cars, riding whatever DIY spots they can find—or just making their own, many times using the cars themselves as obstacles. Don’t try that on your mom’s Subaru! Documented over a couple of years in California, this black-and-white 16mm film is an art piece featuring an eclectic crew checking out spots in towns such as Bakersfield, San Jose, Treasure Island, Davenport and the South San Diego area, all set to some some heavy guitar-riffed ambient rock. At the premiere, DJ Duffel spun some 45s before the show and afterwards Tommy Guerreo played his chilled-out street chicken rock guitar with fellow mellow skate groovers Chuck Treece on drums and Matt Rodrigues on bongos/percussion.

Some people have less tattoos and more baby faces. Thou the idea for the #yeoldedestruction film was just forming, this was a really fun trip. Thanks Zarosh for hosting us at your wonderland, Cachagua. We will be forever grateful for that experience. We roved around between Marin and Monterey and counties in between. Very rad cast of shredders on this journey; Evan Smith, Ray Barbee, Aaron Suski, Keegan Sauder, Nick Garcia, Zarosh Eggleston, Javier Mendizabal, Taylor Bingaman and Collin Provost. Jon Miner helped me film this first trip, which is always the best thing you could hope for. Thanks Miner. Ronnie Sandoval, Raven Tershy, & More | YODferd Files | Thomas Campbell | Ep 7 "Ok so, when I first started think about making Ye Olde Destruction, I had a vague idea that eventuated into something similar but kind of different. In the beginning I thought there would be some skatepark footage in the film, but in the end I just decided to just go with the footage from DIY spots with whatever else outside of that realm. Thus, leaving some cool sessions from a few different parks (Santa Cruz, Redwood City and Ripon) on the cutting room floor. Anyway, living in or near Santa Cruz and getting to watch Raven Tershy evolve from a young person into his fully formed adult amazingness on a skateboard has been a treat. He is definitely one of my all-time favorite skaters. So, it was fun to shoot a little bit of stuff with Ray, the footage at the beginning of this piece is from as far back as 2011 with Raven and Javier Mendizabal. And the rest of the footy is all in the last year or 3. Stoked to get a few clips with Ronnie Sandoval, he is incredible and his handstanders are top shelf. As well as sweet stunt moves and crashes by Zarosh, Roger Mihalko, and Cedric Pabich, anyway, enjoy the riprides.
