Snowboarding Joins the Rockstar Energy Open Video Qualifier Series — Contest & Prize Guide It’s official: The Rockstar Energy Open Video Qualifier Series (VQS) expands to snowboarding as the inaugural snowboard edition of the Rockstar Energy Open heads to Breckenridge, Colorado this December. If you’re not already familiar with the VQS, this is ANYone’s chance to win cash prizes and be invited to compete with the pros. How does it all work? Here’s a breakdown: There will be four weeks of fan voting on ThePlatfrm.com starting October 20th to November 10th, 2025. Each week one woman and one man will each be awarded $1,000 for the best video entry. At the end of the four weeks, there will be a Best Trick and Viewer’s Choice award of $2,500 each given to a women and men. But wait, there’s more!  After all the payouts, there will be 10 women and 10 men invited to compete at the Rockstar Energy Open in Breckenridge, Colorado on December 19 -21, 2025. Chris Russell: Skateboarding Chaos Meets Jiujitsu Discipline | Portraits Chaos and discipline only scratch the surface when describing all that is Chris Russell. Currently residing in Ocean Beach, San Diego—but originally from Hermosa Beach—Chris has been surrounded by surfing and skating since day one. Hitting the road to compete was a family affair in his early days, but as a teenager he began taking on the road solo to tear up and hold on to everything in his way. But there’s another side to Chris, too. Lately, he’s been learning to be a strength and conditioning coach. For the last five years, Chris has taken to jiujitsu, learning a lot about discipline while taking his personal fitness to the next level. “Skateboarding is chaotic, and it’s the best thing, but I think within that—and as you get older—you want to feel a little bit more grounded and secure.
