Phil Hansen Lib Tech Farewell Slideshow What can you say about a dude that you met when he was just a kid, who blew your mind as a skate / snow ATV phenom like none before or since whom represented your brands (Lib Tech, Lib Tech Skate, Bent Metal) with every ounce of his talent and heart in every possible scenario? I guess all you can really say is THANK YOU. Thank you Phil Hansen for your time on Lib Tech we are so incredibly honored to have had you on our squad and consider you part of our family for life we are also proud of your accomplishments and although we aren't explicitly a part of this next chapter of your career we will also be proud of that! Just look at the breadth of this collection of photos by Tim Zimmerman of Phil...how could you not wish all the success our board sports world has to offer him? You couldn't and we wouldn't and we absolutely do celebrate you Phil! Can’t wait to see what you’re about to unleash on the world, congrats!” – Tim Zimmerman "When Phil Hansen first landed on our radar it was to potentially be on the Lib Tech Skate team. Mikey Swearingen had skated with him at a mini ramp event in Texas and was swearing (literally and figuratively) up and down about how rad this kid was and how we "HAD TO GET HIM!" (please picture Mikey here, shirtless, with a starter mullet and tiny dog in arms ((if you don't know Mikey than picture a young shorter Patrick Swayze in his place))). Me being an already budget sensitive team manager and keeping up a healthy dose of defensive skepticism with anything L'il Swayze said couldn't imagine a scenario where this dude came and skated for us. When I checked out Phil's IG it was chocked full of A-grade street bangers with likes and comments from heavy hitters like the Chief himself (Jamie Thomas). Why would this dude mess with us? We were this weird snowboard brand from the NW who made indestructible skateboards mostly to be ridden on crusty curb spots and in deep Grindline terrain. But as I kept scrolling I saw that Phil had been to High Cascade, "oh, so he hangs with snowboarders, hmmm..." then I keep scrolling and there he is snowboarding "Oh this dude boards..." then he's doing a back 10 double in the park "Wait what?" and then he's entering a free ride contest "This dude rides pow! WE GOT HIM!" From his first trip up here for a Lib Leg Tour Phil has been gifting this old head IRL dream tricks ..."I've never seen anyone do a backside nose blunt slide in person...I've never seen anyone do a 540 in a bowl in person...." (that was day 1 FYI). Everyday since Phil has humbly been blowing my mind and pushing me and Lib Tech forward in the pursuit of A-grade moments. I can't wait to see what Phil brings to life not just from this season's footage but for all the season's coming.
