The qualification event for the GB Olympic Surfing Team is set to take place on the 10th and 11th of April 2021 in Thurso, pending Scottish Government approval and SportScotland Institute of Sport (SIS) approval of an RTT step 1a plan. Four men and four women from the home nation surfing federations of Scotland, Wales, England and the Channel Islands will be vying for a place in the first ever surfing Olympic team; and amongst the eight-strong team from Scotland will be five Thurso based surfers.
