The Southwest Freeride Series was established in 2001. It was formerly known as the “New Mexico Series," but as athletes started to travel from neighboring states to compete, the name was changed. In 2004, our Series hosted the USASA National Championships at Angel Fire Resort.
Our athletes are known for their comradery and our events provide a safe, supportive atmosphere where they can progress and showcase their skills.
Come on out and give it a try. You can preregister for events online or just show-up early (8:30am) and register on-site.
2016 is our first year as Series Directors, but we have both been members of the USASA for a long time. We are both certified coaches and have been competitors for as long as we can remember. Our highest achievement was in 2015, when we both finished 2nd in Master's Slopestyle at the National Championships. Our children also love snowboarding and will be seen at every event.
