The 2020 YETI Australian Junior Online Surf Championships are set to give the country’s best junior talent a platform to compete for individual honours and state pride after Surfing Australia today announced the cancellation of the 2020 Surf Dive n’ Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles which were scheduled to run from November 28th, 2020 on North Stradbroke Island due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.

The Euro Cup of Surfing continues this coming week with the second and last stop in the WSL Countdown series on the Old Continent, the MEO Portugal Cup of Surfing, which waiting period extends from September 28th to October 2nd.

The World Surf League (WSL) Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro will return to the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside, Calif., October 3-4, 2020 where the top female surfers from Hawaii, California and Florida will return to California’s first ocean-competition since the COVID-19 pause. No fans will be permitted to attend; however, the WSL specialty event will feature the live broadcast on WorldSurfLeague.com starting at 8 a.m. PT.

Caroline Marks will compete in the upcoming Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro at Oceanside.

Italo Ferreira (BRA) and Johanne Defay (FRA) have won the French Rendez-Vous of Surfing WSL Countdown event today in Anglet in tricky three-to-four foot surf, eliminating Andy Criere (ESP) and Vahine Fierro (PYF) in the men and women’s finals respectively.

Showcasing the dreams of first-time Olympic hopefuls from around the world, the Olympic Channel presents Road to Tokyo: The Qualifier Stories starting with the premiere of its surfing series on Thursday, 17 September and followed by its sport climbing series on Thursday, 1 October. Today, World Champion Adriano de Souza announced his decision to retire at the end of the 2021 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) season. After 15 years on the CT, the 33-year-old made the announcement via a virtual press conference from his home in Brazil.

Tyler Wright and Ethan Ewing have taken epic victories at the Tweed Coast Pro, event one of the Australian Grand Slam of Surfing. Both Wright and Ewing looked destined for victory, each dominating the final day in fun two-to-three foot waves at the beautiful Cabarita Headland in what has been professional surfing’s return to the ocean for the first event since March this year.

Today, the World Surf League (WSL) announced that Maya Gabeira (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) won the cbdMD XXL Biggest Wave Award and set the new World Record for the largest wave ever surfed by a woman. As part of the Red Bull Big Wave Awards (BWA), the BWA validated Gabeira’s ride as the new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title holder for the largest wave surfed (unlimited) - female.

The World Surf League (WSL) Australian Grand Slam of Surfing series has issued a Green Alert for the Tweed Coast Pro, Tweed Coast NSW, to run this Sunday, September 13 from 7:00 a.m. AEST. A moderate East swell is forecast for the region over the weekend and into next week and should make for favourable conditions at Cabarita Beach for the event to run over two days on Sunday and Monday.

Owen Wright will compete at the Tweed Coast Pro which has been put on 'Green Alert' to run Sunday and Monday September 13-14, 2020.
