The final event of the 2020/21 FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe season took to the slopes of a brand-new venue for the world’s best riders, and the slopestyle competition that went down on the unique and exciting course at Silvaplana’s Corvatsch 3303 resort did not disappoint. In the end, Reira Iwabuchi (JPN) and Marcus Kleveland (NOR) would take the wins with standout performances on Sunday, while Kleveland and Anna Gasser (AUT) would end the season as the big winners with double crystal globe finishes.

The final competition of two incredible weeks of action at Aspen Snowmass took to the slopes of Buttermilk Mountain on Sunday, where the second and final halfpipe World Cup of the season went down under sunny, springy conditions and Chloe Kim (USA) and Yuto Totsuka continued their pipe dominance with wins at the Land Rover US Grand Prix.

The world’s best freeskiers and snowboarders are on their way to Silvaplana in Switzerland to join the last Slopestyle World Cup of the season. It’s the 8th edition of the Freeski World Cup (March 26th – 27th) at Corvatsch park while it’s the premiere for the Snowboard World Cup (March 27th – 28th). The short-notice addition of Snowboarding which was originally planned in Czech Republic was a no-brainer for Corvatsch AG, as they just handed in the application for the Ski-Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships 2025. This week it’s all about important event titles, a prizemoney of CHF 100.000 in total (CHF 50.000 for each sport) and last but definitely not least the small crystal globes for the final Slopestyle World Cup standings 2020/21, a pre-Olympic season.

In 2021, Real Snow returns to the Real Series lineup with six of snowboarding’s most popular riders, all six of which are Real Snow rookies. This year, the focus of the Real Snow video parts will shift from urban to all-terrain, with video parts that combine urban elements, backcountry and park riding.

After the conclusion of the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freestyle World Championships on Wednesday, Saturday afternoon saw the action in Aspen (USA) rolling on with the first of this weekend’s back-to-back World Cup competitions taking to the Buttermilk Mountain slopestyle course, where springy conditions and the occasional gusty wind made for some occasionally tough riding, but where Anna Gasser (AUT) and Marcus Kleveland (NOR) rose to the challenge and walked away with impressive wins.

With the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships only just finished up on Tuesday, we are right back to action at Buttermilk Mountain from Thursday through to Sunday with FIS Snowboard World Cup slopestyle and halfpipe action at the Land Rover US Grand Prix.

After the freeskiers opened things up on Tuesday at the final day of competition for the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard & Freeski World Championships, the snowboarders shut it down, with an incredible big air competition that saw Canada sweep the top of the podium on the strength of standout, gold-medal performances from Laurie Blouin and Mark McMorris.

Storm Xylia held off almost as if the organisers here at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships had requested it, as what was forecasted to be the biggest winter weather event in a decade didn’t start dumping snow until the last post-event interview was in the bag, thus allowing Chloe Kim (USA) and Yuto Totsuka to show their best on the way to claiming Aspen 2021 halfpipe gold medals.

The first day of medal competition at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships took place under near-perfect spring conditions on Friday at Aspen’s Buttermilk Mountain, where we witnessed Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand and Marcus Kleveland of Norway earn slopestyle World Championships gold medals in a dramatic day of action.

The second day of competition at the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships will take to slopes of the famed Colorado resort on Thursday, where women’s halfpipe qualifications are slated to go down from 8:45 to 9:45 MST, followed by the men from 10:40 to 12:15. Finals are then scheduled to take place on Saturday, beginning at 13:00 - weather permitting and subject to change.

Flachauwinkl hosted the World Rookie Tour for the first time during the last week "Absolute Spring Battle". Snowboarders from all over Europe took the opportunity to ride one of the best park setups in Europe and compete in a Big Air competition. Titles were awarded for the Absolut Park Rookie Fest for the youngsters, at the same time for the Austrian championship and FIS Europa Cup for all the riders.

A hugely exciting set of competitions is set to take to the slopes of Aspen's Buttermilk resort beginning on Wednesday, as the most progressive snowsports athletes on earth will finally get their time to shine when the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships get underway this week.
