Tatiana Weston-Webb (HAW) claimed victory today at the Vans US Open of Surfing in front of a capacity crowd on the Southside of the Huntington Beach Pier in three-to-five foot (1 - 1.5 meter) waves as she prevailed at Stop No. 6 of 10 on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT).

Three-time WSL Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) has won the J-Bay Open, stop No. 6 on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), defeating John John Florence (HAW) in an exciting Final in three-to-four foot (1 metre) surf at Jeffreys Bay.

Mick's 2016 J-Bay victory is his 22nd on the Championship tour.

The first stop of the Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Banzai Bowls returned once again to the South Side of Huntington Beach Pier. The surf on the opening day of competition offered pumping 4-5 foot glassy peaks for competitors as a declining swell shifted into the final rounds on Sunday.
