Josh Moniz, 21, claimed the Volcom Pipe Pro today in exceptional, all-time conditions at Pipeline after overcoming a stacked Final heat that included a perfect 10-point ride from former event winner and Pipe prodigy Jamie O’Brien (HAW). This marks the ninth event of the Volcom Pipe Pro history, a World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 3,000 event, and Moniz takes the fifth win to join the elite list of warrior winners that also includes 2x World Champion John John Florence (HAW), 11x World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) and Australian Soli Bailey.

Finn McGill (HAW) and Vahine Fierro (PYF) have taken out the 2017 WSL Men’s and Women’s Jeep World Junior Championship in Kiama NSW. The final day saw 28 heats run and history made with bumpy 3-to-4 foot waves on offer at Bombo Beach.

Congratulations to Jeremy Flores (29), who won the 2017 (and 2010) Pipeline Masters last night in Hawaii. The French surfer from Reunion Island took out friend and teammate Kanoa Igarashi as well as world title hopeful Gabriel Medina en route to the Final against the new WSL Champion, John John Florence. ''Jez" rounds out the year at 15th place on the Jeep Leaderboard to solidify his place on the 2018 CT. The victory at Pipe also marks his best result of the season and his first CT win since Tahiti in 2015.

John John Florence (HAW) clinched the 2017 World Surf League (WSL) Title today at the Billabong Pipe Masters, making him the first male surfer since the late Andy Irons (HAW) to successfully defend a maiden world title (Irons was ’02, ’03). Mark Richards (AUS), Tom Carroll (AUS) and Tom Curren (USA) are the only other male surfers to have achieved this feat.
