The great tour finals of the 7th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards 2019/2020 went down on October 17th and 18th, 2020 at the Betterpark Hintertux on Hintertux Glacier. The 4th snowboarding slopestyle contest of Zillertal´s most popular snowboard series 2019/2020 was not only about medals and day podiums, but also about the crowning of the overall tour winners, the new Kings and Queens of the Zillertal VÄLLEY 2019/2020.

The first snow is here! Kitzsteinhorn at Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria, enters the 2020/21 winter season with an action-packed freestyle and freeride offer. The ski resort opened on 4 October, and now Glacier Park invites riders to shred the first set-up of the winter!

On October 17th and 18th, 2020, the great tour finals of the 7. Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards 2019/2020 will go down at Betterpark Hintertux. Some of Europe´s best up-and-coming snowboard talents have already been spottet training at Hintertux Glacier. Everyone is now looking forward to earn the last points at the 4th and final tour stop of Zillertal´s most poplular snowboard amateur series next weekend. Beside the day podiums, the overall tour winners 2019/2020 will finally be crowned new Kings and Queens of the VÄLLEY in Tux-Finkenberg.

The LAAX OPEN, Europe’s long-standing and number one snowboarding event, is scheduled for 19-23 January 2021. International snowboard pro riders will take part in the Slopestyle and Halfpipe disciplines in the World Cup on Crap Sogn Gion, where they will demonstrate top-class freestyle skills and vie for points, prize money and prestige.

With winter on the horizon that can only mean one thing; the return of the Freeride World Tour! The world’s best freeriders will be back charging hard for the world title in a brand-new format with the announcement of the Freeride World Tour (FWT) 2021 calendar.

In December 2020, the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards will be starting into the 8th round. As every year, the popular snowboard tour attracts many international snowboarders to travel to Zillertal. Under the aegis of the Ästhetiker crew, four tourstops will be on the schedule for 2020/2021. The events will go down in four different Zillertal snowparks, always with one day of coaching and training and a slopestyle competition day. This season´s series will be kicking off just before Christmas with the first tourstop on December 19th and 20th at Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach.

Team Wells was crowned victorious at the Obsidian 2020 on Friday 28 August after a tight race which came down to the wire. After five challenges Team Wells snatched the win by only 20 points ahead of their rivals Team Kuzma and Team Smoothy, who were tied on 500 points each on the overall leaderboard.

Team Wells took the Edgar Challenge Trophy for their win at the Winter Games NZ's Obsidian event that took place in New Zealand during August 2020.

What is Obsidian? We hear you ask! Well it’s the biggest snow sports event this winter, with the finest kiwi talent competing in five epic challenges from 10 - 20 August.

Winter Games NZ is the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow sports event. Traditionally it welcomes the world’s best skiers and snowboarders to compete in the opening of the FIS Park and Pipe World Cup season and The North Face Frontier, a Freeride World Qualifying Tour 4* & 2* event. This year that can’t happen, so rather than let the event lapse Winter Games NZ will run Obsidian.

The Zillertal is – and has always been - one of the most popular Tyrolean valleys. The Choice Adventure Company´s home of choice also has a lot to offer, when it comes to splitboard touring and freeriding far away from the crowds. For this year´s Choice „friends“ advanced level camp in early February, a bunch of experienced splitboarders gathered at the cosy Diggl Freeride Farm during a snow storm. But as we all know: after the storm, comes sun again! So they finally got blessed with three days of perfect splitboard touring, bluebird and fresh powder.

A group of highly motivated splitboarders came together in the beautiful Stubai valley in March 2020 to explore the versatile backcountry of Stubai Glacier, that definitely deserved it´s title as the „kingdom of snow,“ showing off with bluebird and fresh snow that weekend. No wonder, that after two days of excellent mountain guiding, short hikes, long powder runs and an adrenaline rushing 50-meter abseiling action, everyone involved went home with great memories and a big smile all over their sun-kissed face.
