It’s been well over a month now since the 2021/22 FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe World Cup season opened at the Big Air Chur festival back in October, and the world’s best riders are no doubt champing at the bit to get back to action as the winter cranks into top gear up and we launch into the next two months of action in the race towards February’s Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

The Superpipe Training Weeks at the Kitzsteinhorn, Kaprun, Austria, are over – and the international halfpipe stars were able to improve their runs for the Olympic season in perfect conditions throughout November! Many of the world’s best freeskiers and snowboarders from Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America took advantage of the exclusive training opportunity to get in shape for the first World Cups of the season and the season highlight, the 2022 Winter Olympics. Now that the Training Weeks are over, the Kitzsteinhorn Superpipe will open to everyone on December 4, 2021, complementing the existing slopestyle offerings at the Glacier Park.

Get a first look at the event schedule and athletes to look out for at Dew Tour Copper, coming this December 16-19, 2021. This Olympic qualifying competition in Copper, Colorado is free to attend.

Corvatsch AG is happy to announce the dates for the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup at Corvatsch Park in Silvaplana near St. Moritz, Switzerland. The 9th edition of the event is scheduled for March 25th – 27th, 2022.

The LAAX OPEN is Europe's most important snowboard event: Since 2005, the January OPEN event in LAAX, Switzerland, has been a living freestyle lifestyle, melding contest with culture. Since 2017, it has been part of the FIS Snowboard World Cup circuit and is considered by numerous riders and teams there as the top favourite event. The OPEN also plays an outstanding role in the media and sets specific standards in reporting.

ESPN X Games announced today that X Games Aspen 2022 will return to Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass with 100 of the world’s best action sports athletes competing in 14 disciplines from Jan. 21-23. For the 21st consecutive year, Buttermilk will host X Games Aspen for 13.5 hours of live coverage on ESPN and ABC and will be presented across the globe through international syndication partners. The annual winter Dew Tour to be held at Copper Mountain this December 16-19 – will serve as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Olympic qualifying event for men’s and women’s halfpipe and slopestyle snowboarding and freeskiing competitions. It is the second year the Winter Dew Tour will be held at Copper Mountain, after hosting a successful event at the resort in 2020.

The 2021/22 FIS Snowboard World Cup season officially got underway on Saturday at a brand new venue that seems destined to be a highlight stop on the circuit for years to come, as a massive, pumped-up crowd was on hand to watch Kokomo Murase (JPN) and Jonas Boesiger (SUI) claim the first World Cup victories of their careers at the Big Air Chur.

The freestylers open the new contest season with the BIG AIR CHUR. On 22/23 October 2021, freeskiers and snowboarders will begin the Olympic winter together. This and the set-up as a sports and music festival are the reasons why everyone wants to be at the FIS World Cup kick-off at the Obere Au in Chur, Graubünden. The registration and waiting list is abuzz with names and nations. Meaning everyone and their kitchen sink want to be there at the take-off.

Skiing and snowboarding action from autumn to early summer: Kitzsteinhorn at Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria, enters the 2021/22 winter season with a broad offer in freestyle and freeride. After the start of the ski season on October 9, 2021, the Glacier Park will open its doors seven days later. From October 16, snowboarders and skiers will find a unique range of snow parks at the Kitzsteinhorn until May, as the Superpipe and Easy Park will open in December, and the Central Park and South Central Park will follow in the new year. But that’s not all: with its fine freeride and ski touring routes, Salzburg’s only glacier ski area is also a treat for powder fans, ski tourers and splitboarders.

Under blue skies and best snow park conditions numerous freestyle-snowboarders returned to snow last weekend up at Hintertux glacier to finally get back on the board, which means the world to them. Traditionally the Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux is the winter kick-off for snowboarders, the 17th edition this year took place from September 30th – October 3rd, 2021. An excellent park setup and good weather contributed to high spirits and motivated riders all around.

In December 2021, the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards will be kicking off into the 9th season. As every year, the popular snowboard tour attracts international riders to travel to Zillertal from everywhere. Under the aegis of the Ästhetiker crew, four tourstops will be held in 2021/2022. The events will be going down in four different Zillertal snowparks, always happening with one day of coaching and training and a slopestyle competition day. This season´s series will be kicking off with the first tourstop on December 18th and 19th at the ski resort of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach.

Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY snowboard tour is back for the 2021/22 season attracting young talent from all over with its unique format that combines coaching and contest.
