The pair came out ahead of the field of 108 Rookies, who made the trip from 18 different countries to the world famous final Rookie Tour battle. The contest finale is in it's ninth year at Ischgl, and it's clear that everyone who attends has a fantastic experience whether riding, coaching or cheering on.

The biggest youth snowboard series has been running 11 years and is a fabulous mix of competition and workshops, meaning everyone can leave with great memories even if they don't reach the top. In between the epic riding, this year's event included some brilliant workshops for the Rookies, including first aid and cooking with insects! There were also talks from Gummi Love to encourage safe sex, and Viva Con Agua to highlight global water issues. The Rough Boards workshop on friday was a particular hit with Rookies working in teams to create longboards made from old snowboards for the overall event winners to take home. They worked together to set up the boards including creating some original grip designs. The youngsters also got to test out some ready made Ruff boards, which are created by a company who employ ex-cons after prison. The session was a big hit.

The Rookie Tour really is the best way for young snowboarders to taste the beginnings of pro life, hone their competition skills and have fun while making international friends. Big respect goes out to all the organisers who make this contest happen all over the plannet and also to the Ischgl resort for their stellar support.
