<div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">With a show of flips on the track, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul are champions of the second stage of the Brazilian skateboarding circuit</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In the women's division, a very well-executed flip practically decided the title in favor of <strong>Sofia Godoy</strong>. In the men's division, a sequence of flips also made the difference for <strong>Kalani Konig</strong>, from Santa Catarina, who received one of those stratospheric scores from the judges. This was the scenario of the Park finals in the second stage of the STU National 2024, which crowned the skaters on a Sunday of skateboarding at the highest level at Parque da Prefeitura, in Criciúma (SC). And the two made a point of narrating their deeds after the conquests.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Kalani Konig</strong>, 16 years old, born in Florianópolis, lived very different moments in this stage. One of the few on the circuit to compete in both Park and Street, on Friday the world seemed to have ended for him when he was eliminated in the Street qualifiers. But Kalani needed to take this unforeseen event as a lesson, because he still had a Park competition to play. They advanced from the first round, made it through the semifinals well and channeled everything they had in their feet into the final. There's nothing like one day after another.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">"Really, I was really, really upset, that I had made a mistake in my laps and I didn't make any progress on the street. What I did was take all my anger to do what I did today. Of the five laps we managed to do in the two 20-minute sessions of the final, I only missed one. I got all the energy I could to get on the track and do my best. I'm very happy to win here and, in addition, to make my first podium in Criciúma", said Kalani, who, following his laps, did 83.79, 90.50, 95.02 (the one for the title), 30.00 (the only one who made a mistake) and 87.26.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">His second round, which earned him a score of 90.50, would have already given him the title, since none of the other five finalists reached 90.00. But his obstinacy on Sunday sent him flying even more as he entered the runway next. But what would have changed so much in his presentation and in the judges' evaluation to earn a score of 95.02, considered very high in the world of skateboarding? Kalani tried to explain in a detailed and didactic way what he did.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">"On the lap when I was given the 90, I did only three flips and other maneuvers that I had already planned. In the one where I won 95, I did one more flip and an alley oop 5, for me one of the most difficult maneuvers there is. I'm very happy to have got it right, and right at the end of my presentation, which may have caught the most attention. It may have been the one that practically gave me the title", added Kalani, who had Luiz Francisco and Pedro Carvalho by his side on the podium.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>A single flip indy was the difference for Sofia Godoy's title</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Sofia Godoy</strong>, a 15-year-old from Campo Bom, Rio Grande do Sul, with green hair and her own style, has the ability to bring the crowd to her side. Friendly and outgoing, she says that this exchange helps a lot when she enters the track, which relieves a nervousness that she says is natural. And it was a lot of this energy that made her hit a maneuver that practically gave her the title of the stage, the flipindy, a differential due to the fact that the other five finalists did not perform. He admits that it was not easy, but the result of a lot of training and insistence.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">"I've been trying this flip indy for a long time and I was able to fit it right on the first attempt of my second lap. I was very happy, but I still needed to concentrate and finish the lap. I was already starting to smile when I stopped and thought: 'breathe, the lap is still in the middle'. I even lost a little bit of gas, but I managed to finish well. In one practice, I only hit one flip indy; The other day, I got two right. Today, in the warm-up, I got five right and I said: 'it's today and I'll be able to hit it at the right time', said Sofia, champion with a score of 80.80.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Criciúma stage of the STU National 2024 was presented by Banco BV and had Petrobras as master sponsor, in addition to sponsorships from the Federal Government, Monster Energy, the Municipality of Criciúma, the Municipal Sports Foundation and Tiger.
