Saturday morning, about 10 o’clock at Superpark Planai: Music in the background, hot tea cups are passed around, lots of snowboards and skis lying around in the chill area – and about 35 girls are getting ready with a warm-up. Girls Own The Park – that’s plain to see! This winter’s motto of the Girls Shred Sessions was also part of the plan at the Blue Tomato Girls Day on February 3, 2018.

After a warm welcome and a group photo, the girls started into the shred session: Blue Tomato Team Riders Lisa Veith and Michaela Tiefenbacher took over the coaching and provided lots of useful tips for the shred queens. Some girls also celebrated their park premiere and shredded their first obstacles. Other girls, who had been around the park business for a little while, pushed each other and gave different obstacles a try. Even though it started snowing during the late morning, the motivation of the shred sistas didn’t decrease – on the contrary: “You don’t get cold, when you hike!” quickly became the motto of the progression session.

Shred Session? Dance session!

At lunchtime, everyone found their way to the chill area again, where tea helped to warm up a bit. The lunch was for free and served by Blue Tomato: Burgers and great conversation about the morning’s progression helped to restore the energy level for the next few runs. Coach Lisa even declared the shred session a dance session for a while – not even the cold can win against good vibes and loads of motivation!

After lunch, it was time to shred the setup again: Some girls were in need of airtime and shredded the kickers with Coach Michaela. “We are definitely making progress here!”, Michi said. At the end of the session, the goodie bags, filled with nice stuff from Blue Tomato, QParks and Golden Ride, were handed out to all shred queens.

Even though the weather wasn’t the best, the riders had a blast: The day was a progression session with lots of motivation and fun! After the shred, everybody got together at the Blue Tomato Shop Schladming, where vitamin drinks and fine beats were served.
