QParks new contest for U18 is here: Rookie Battle Alta Badia, February 9, 2020

The QParks Tour celebrates its comeback to Snowpark Alta Badia and at the same time it’s going to be a premiere! After all, the Rookie Battle Alta Badia is the first-ever QParks Tour Stop exclusively for freeskiers and snowboarders under 18 years!

Rookies on the rise

All those who’ve observed the latest developments at contests, in snowparks and within the freestyle community have noticed one thing: the rookies are gaining more and more ground and are challenging the old pros. After all, the level of the next generation is increasing year after year, their motivation is massive, and the stoke is endless. That’s why the QParks Tour opens a new chapter and provides an exclusive stage for all rookies. On February 9, 2020 all freeskiers and snowboarder born until 2001 can show what they’ve got and prove that the rookies are on fire! Thus, the Rookie Battle Alta Badia is the perfect opportunity to gain first contest experience, show some skills and enjoy a laid-back day together with other like-minded shredheads.

Rankings and prizes

The concept of the Rookie Battle Alta Badia is simple: While traditional QParks Tour Stops are open for all age groups, the Rookie Battle is limited to riders under 18 years. All boys and girls can fight for the win of the day in the categories “groms” (born until 2005) and “overall” (born until 2001). Furthermore, all participants can collect important points for the QParks Tour overall ranking and the World Rookie Rank (snowboard). But that’s not enough, terrific prizes such as goodies from POW Gloves, Amplifi and QParks and some cash are waiting for the winners of this slopestyle showdown.

Timetable

The Rookie Battle Alta Badia starts at 9:00 am in the Chill Area at Snowpark Alta Badia. The full contest’s schedule can be found here in the timetable:

• 09:00-10:15 Rider registration & training

• 10:15-10:30 Riders meeting & reshape

• 10:30-13:00 Qualification runs

• 13:00-13:30 Break & reshape

• 13:30-13:45 Riders meeting

• 13:45-14:45 Final runs

• 15:00 Prize giving

Participation at the Rookie Battle Alta Badia is free. Just register online via this link until the day before the event or sign up at the contest on-site. So, all young guns should already mark this day in their calendars and show up on February 9 at Snowpark Alta Badia.
