Just in time for the first Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tourstop 2021/2022 hosted by Blue Tomato & Ride Snowboards, the <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/spots/betterpark-hochzillertal" target="_blank">Betterpark Hochzillertal</a> showed off with a majestic setup, bluebird and sunshine all weekend long. Almost 80 riders showed up for the first VÄLLEY RÄLLEY stage in Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach, already going big on the training day while practising for the great competiton on Sunday. Despite strict safety precautions, the event went smoothly and everbody was beyond happy to be there. In the open slopestyle contest on Sunday, teams from all over Europe kept pushing the limits on Betterpark Hochzillertal´s premium setup. Lots of medals, prizes and prize money were up for grabs for the podium winners of all eight categories.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It was the Austrian rider <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/tom-rebernig" target="_blank">Thomas Rebernig</a>, who caused furore with his „Underflip 720 to Frontflip Double nose“ and thus earned the Horsefeathers Best Trick Award. The luckiest girl of the day was probably <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/sky-remans" target="_blank">Sky Remans</a> from Belgium, who went for gold in the Super Grom Girls category (U13), bronze in the open ranking of all female participants and finally claimed the award as the “Most impressive Grom of the Day.” <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/eric-dovjak" target="_blank">Eric Dovjak</a> from Austria showed off with a solid performance, winning the Rookie Boys contest (16-18 years) and taking the lead of the “Overall Men´s” ranking.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">For the girls it was <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/vanessa-volopichova" target="_blank">Vanessa Volopichová</a> from team Czech Republic, who won the Grom Girls (13-15 years) contest, taking the lead as the best overall female rider. Her team mate <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/laura-zaveska" target="_blank">Laura Zaveska</a>, also from Czech Republic, stayed close on Vanessa's heels. She claimed the gold medal in the Rookie Girls class (16-18 years) and silver in the “Overall Women´s” ranking. Newcomer <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/sverre-dijkmans" target="_blank">Sverre Dijkmans</a> from Belgium made it to the top of the Super Grom Boys (U13) podium. <a href="https://www.boardriding.com/riders/charlie-lane" target="_blank">Charlie Lane</a> from Team Why Ain´t You – Great Britain maneuvered himself well deservedly into first place on the Grom Boys podium (13-15 years). All competitors were throwing down great tricks, delivering an incredible show to the audience.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Martha Schultz from the ski resort of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach is delighted with the successful event: „Thanks to the team of the Ästhetiker. Once again and especially in challenging times like these, they were professionals at work. And these kind of events are important for wintersports and for our kids and young athletes. They convey the common joy out in nature and our youth is finding a platform to benchmark themselves.“</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">With the first out of four results, the hunt for valuable Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY overall ranking points has started in Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach. The overall winners will finally be crowned new Royal Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY family 2022 at the last tour stop in Hintertux. Riders who participated at the Betterpark Hochzillertal will further be collecting points on the International World Snowboard Point List (WSPL). The tour stop counts as an ASA (Austrian Snowboard Association) Austriacup and provides points in the World Rookie Ranking to qualify for the World Rookie Tour Finals.
