The Stubai Prime Park Sessions celebrate their 10th anniversary: Since the first edition in 2013, the international elite freeskiers and snowboarders return to Stubai Glacier year after year to prepare for the winter season. During the four one-week sessions between October 24 and November 27, 2022, the athletes fine tune their tricks for the World Cup, X-Games and the upcoming World Championships in February 2023 on the impressive kickers of the Stubai Zoo snow park – and the first week brought not only a lot of sun, but even some never done before tricks. The concept of the Stubai Prime Park Sessions has been tried and tested since 2013: Together with the Stubai Glacier, the Prime Park Sessions provide the world’s top freeskiers and snowboarders with training conditions unlike anywhere else in the world. The Prime Line of the Stubai Zoo, built especially for the slopestyle pros, offers two perfectly prepared and safe kickers, a combo feature with jump rail and jib knuckle as well as a rail garden in front of the majestic backdrop of the Stubai Alps. On each day of the Stubai Prime Park Sessions, a film crew is on site to document the runs of the pros. The footage is made available to the athletes for video analysis and film projects. During the first week, freeski and snowboard fans could once again follow the progression of the athletes almost in real time on their social media channels. Highlights for the snowboarders included Markus Kleveland (NOR) with a never done before Nosebutter Backside 1800 and Kuba Hroneš (CZE) with a Cab Double 1800 Double Nosegrab. Freeskier James Kanzler (USA) nailed a rare quadcork, while double World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Tess Ledeux (FRA) repeated her Double Cork 1620, which she had landed in spring as the first female freeskier ever. For the freeskiers, the Stubai Prime Park Sessions are the ideal warm-up for the FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai from November 16 to 19, 2022, and that’s not the only reason why there are numerous top-class athletes among them: the line-up includes Olympic Big Air Champion Birk Ruud (NOR), Olympic Slopestyle Champion Alex Hall (USA), Swiss World Champions Fabian Boesch and Andri Ragettli, Olympic runner-up in Big Air, Colby Stevenson (USA) and Olympic third in Slopestyle, Jesper Tjäder (SWE). In the women’s category, Olympic champion Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) as well as Olympic bronze medalist and halfpipe world champion Kelly Sildaru (LIT) are among the top stars. In addition to two-time World Cup winner Matej Svancer (AUT), World Cup winner Lukas Muellauer (AUT), Lara Wolff (AUT), and Daniel Bacher (AUT), numerous Austrian and German freeski pros are also in the mix. In the snowboarders’ field, Olympic gold medalists Anna Gasser (AUT) and Red Gerard (USA) have come to the Stubai Glacier, as well as X-Games winner Sven Thorgren (SWE) and two-time Vice Junior World Champion Annika Morgan (GER). The FIS World Cup winner from Bakuriani 2022, Leon Vockensberger (GER), World Champion and X-Games winner Miyabi Onitsuka (JPN), two-time X-Games winner and double Junior World Champion Takeru Otsuka (JPN) as well as Olympic participant Clemens Millauer (AUT) are also taking part.
