Snowboarders were happy to be part of the badenova Masters at the Feldberg, where they competed for the freestyle crown of the Feldberg. Due to freezing snow showers, the contest line was reduced from five to two hits. On the first hit you had to choose between a Down Rail (6m) and a Flat Down Box (6m). The second hit in the contest line was a super creative Multijib Feature. No kickers, no problem. The riders went nuts on the contest setup and since the chill area was super close to the line as well, the crowd pushed the riders even more.

The snowboarders kicked it into high gear right away. The fact that the riders saw each other’s runs from the start area motivated them to the max! Caroline Höckel (CH) sticked a 50/50 to Frontside Boardslide on the Down Rail and made the first place, followed by Anna Cordes (GER) and Romy van Vreden (NL) in the ladies’ category. In the men’s category, Fynn Koenen (GER) received the highest score with a Cab 180 50/50 Backside 360 out and had the crowd cheer like crazy. And this victory was a very special one too because he just recovered from a bad injury. Shaper Benjamin Bartmann (GER) and Casper Holtzapfel (NL) made the second and third place.

Also the little ones showed big freestyle action. In the women’s groms category, Romy van Vreden (NL) convinced the judges most with style and progression. Demy Janssen (NL) won the second and Benthe Duijzings (NL) won the third place. In the men’s category, Kyro Zonneveld (NL) won the first place, followed by his shred buddies Jarno Duijzings (NL) and Lars Laeven (NL) as the second-placed and third-placed riders.

In general, it was remarkable that the dutch team was the strongest one with nine riders on the podium in total. „We’re spending most of the year in the snow domes, so we can practice the whole year!“, their coach Andrea Bednas explained. Hence it wasn’t surprising that the best trick award was given to a Dutchman. Kyro Zonneveld (NL) showed a Frontside Boardslide Pretzel 270 out and won 100 € cash.

Here are the results for snowboarders!

Not only the contest action was pretty impressive. Every single rider, spectator and shaper made this event unique! At the chill area the atmosphere was great from the training to the finals! Surely the sausages and drinks for free also contributed to the chill vibes. At the end of the contest it was cake-time because the guys from QParks are celebrating their 15th anniversary!
