Unless you’re Jeremy Jones chances are you’ll be riding the terrain parks rather than the backcountry – at least to start off with. View the following vid of Stanton Park in Austria to get a feel for how these might be laid out. It shows every glorious angle in 3D… intermingled with some sweet ride shots too.
The whitelines guide lists many of the main obstacles. whitelines.com/trick-tips/how-to-snowboard/snowpark-features.html/16
Feel the need to read up? Then there are some in depth descriptions here. www.snowboard-coach.com/freestyle-snowboarding-features.html
Live in a town or city that sees snowy winters (or even just on the odd rare day) and you might be able to break out your board into the urban scene. Imagine waking up to find your neighbourhood covered in the white stuff. You can probably think of some neat stair sets, slopes and city features that’d make immediate automatic-awesome-ride status. :D
However, watch the following clip. As can be seen from the start you’ll need to be uber sure of yourself. If you are, great! If you’re only just starting out, best to watch the pros in vids like this really… especially as you’d need bungees and shit to pull off most of these ridiculously gnarly stunts. Enjoy the virtual ride instead guys. :-)
For future backcountry days you might find it useful to know how to build your very own kicker. Read the following for some good step-by-step guidance, then gather some mates for a private snow party.

And watch these guys – they’ll show you how to notch it up a gear and include snow bricks in your design!!
