You might need these basics to get you up to speed?! Hey, you gotta start somewhere!
Goofy - To ride with your right foot forward and left foot back.
Regular – To ride with your left foot forward and right foot back.
Switch – To ride opposite to your normal stance… good for a challenge when you’re super good at certain tricks.
Mongo Foot – When you push with your front foot instead of your back foot… not great for style or respect!
Chicken Foot – Used to describe bailing on a trick over and over because you’re too scared and can’t commit.
Fakie – When you ride backwards. Often used in half-pipe trick names.
Frontside – Approaching an obstacle with it in front of you.
Backside – Approaching an obstacle with it behind you.
Grind – To slide down a rail, or along a ledge, on your trucks.
Carve – To turn in a long sweeping motion… more commonly heard in longboarding or bowl riding.
